Is it 'fake news', junk news, misinformation, malinformation, or disinformation? This column is going to sum up the ways in which we can critically evaluate and distinguish the types of misleading information on our (social) media timelines.
This article investigates how news media worked through the 'breaking news' format in their reports about the 2011 Norway attacks by looking at the presence of experts and witnesses, and the use of the 'muslim-terror' format and its societal effects.
